They say a winning record is good enough. But the issue is they only say that in the ACC, Big10 and the PAC 12 (what was the pac12). In the SEC the bar is higher than that. At Florida, to them that bar is much higher than at other places. How much higher you ask? Well let's look at the past and then the present at Florida.
Let's start with Will Muschamp:
Jim McElwain comes in:
Here comes Dan Mullen:
Let's stop here and recap:
Muschamp's winning % was - 57
McElwain's winning % was - 64
Mullen's winning % was - 70
Which brings us to present day and Billy Napier:
Conclusion:
Napier will, and must be fired after this season ... unless they somehow end up with a winning record, which at this point seems impossible. Losing more games than you are winning at a University like Florida won't work.
Let's start with Will Muschamp:
- 2011 7-6 - Won the Gator Bowl
- 2012 11-2 - Lost the Sugar bowl, Finished #10
- 2013 4-8 - No bowl
- 2014 7-5 - Won the Birmingham Bowl
Jim McElwain comes in:
- 2015 10-4 - Lost the Citrus bowl, Finished #25
- 2016 9-4 - Won the Outback bowl, Finished #13

Here comes Dan Mullen:
- 2018 10-3 - Won the Peach Bowl, Finished #6
- 2019 11-2 - Won the Orange Bowl, Finished #7
- 2020 8-4 - Lost the Cotton Bowl, Finished #12

Let's stop here and recap:
Muschamp's winning % was - 57
McElwain's winning % was - 64
Mullen's winning % was - 70
Which brings us to present day and Billy Napier:
- 2022 6-7 - Lost the Las Vegas Bowl
- 2023 5-7 - No Bowl
- 2024 (current season) - 3-2
Conclusion:
