Faking Injuries

The question is how do you enforce it and what if you get it wrong? What if a guy is truly hurt and you don’t think he is. Idk I wish the integrity was just there to not do it.

Well we all know Lane is going to do it. I’m not sure on the enforcement part, but maybe the SEC office will look at tape, and the ones where the guy was standing without issues, looking at the sidelines and then just flop…… maybe those are the ones where they fine the school.

I hate it as much as anyone and Ole Miss does it. But we are not the only ones.

Need to get rid of automatic injury timeouts or limit it to 2 per game. Force teams to save timeouts for potential minor injuries. Otherwise, if a player is injured a mandatory rule needs enacted that forces that player to sit out a least an entire drive before being allowed to come back in. Major injuries obviously wouldn’t be under scrutiny since they player is likely being carted off field.

I’m thinking somewhat similar, but I would like to see all injuries be reviewable. Allow the booth to look at the play while the player is being attended to. If he is one like I mentioned, looking at sidelines and in good health, then suddenly struck by lightning, then that’s a delay of game penalty, loss of down, and the player that flopped should sit until a first down is made, or possession changes. That’s for first offense in the game. For a second offense, player misses entire drive. For a 3rd offense and any subsequent offenses, the players are ejected.

Of course I mean offenses by the team, not the player, but the player pays the price.

Also, for the second offense, it would still be a delay penalty, but for the 3rd and on, will all be considered a PF and be given 15 yards and automatic first down.

What I just outlined gives teeth to the penalty. However it all starts with allowing it to be reviewed.

Your proposal sounds good but slows the game down even more than it already is.

So everyone thinks Lane does this to gain an edge. But to anyone that has paid any true attention, Lane was one of the first coaches to complain about the practice.

Kiffin has always used a tempo offense. When nothing was done, Lane began using the practice, almost with a hyperbolic tone.

Some have claimed he did it to get the attention of league. Maybe so, maybe not, but here is what he said when asked

Does this mean he will stop doing it?
