I wont try to make a guess at the CFP Poll / Bracket this week. It hurts my brain to try and put all the different scenarios together. But....Well maybe I will, depends on how I feel this evening. But......For now, lets look at how the top teams fared this weekend

Top ranked Oregon sneaked past Wisconsin in a game where the #1 team in the country trailed until the 4th quarter. The Ducks scored 10 unanswered in the 4th to win the game 16-13. Can this mean movement? It would to me, but I am not on the committee.

#2 Ohio State blew out Northwestern. Started a bit shaky and were scoreless in the first quarter. But the Buckeyes found their groove and did what they do, winning 31-7

#3 Texas won on the road in Fayetteville 20-10 over old SWC foe Arkansas. This game was hard fought, but in the end a well earned win for the Longhorns

#4 Penn State spanked Perdue 49 - 10

#5 Indiana was idle

#6 BYU went down to unranked Kansas 17-13. This may cause some turmoil in the CFP. It could drop them outside of the top 12, but with the 5 conference champions all guaranteed a spot in the bracket. They can still get in if they win the Big 12. But at this moment, will they beat Colorado?

#7 Tennessee went down to the #12 team Georgia 31-17. I definitely predict this moves Tennessee out of the top 12. This will have a big impact on the SEC Championship Game as well. More on that in a later thread.

#8 Notre Dame beat the hell out of Virginia 35-14

#9 Miami Idle

#10 Alabama committed murder, clipping Mercer 52-7

#11 Ole Miss Idle

#13 Boise State doubled up San Jose State 42-21

#14 SMU got past Boston College 38-28

#15 Texas A&M Beat New Mexico State 38-3

I am going to stop there because I am only concerned with the teams with playoff chances, but with that said I will also add in the Clemson game. The #20 Clemson Tigers worked their way past a tumbling Pitt, 24-20. I bring them up because they can still win the ACC and be guaranteed a spot.

So here is what we know, There will be movement within the top 12. How far does BYU and Tennessee fall? With 3 of the top 12 being idle, will they move up? The poll coming out Tuesday night will be interesting. Later today I will try to objectively look at it. The dilemma comes with teams like Georgia being 12th, and Ole Miss being 11th..... Ole Miss didn't play and Georgia won.....so I can't rightfully move Georgia up in the poll without moving Ole Miss up since the Rebels beat Georgia, but Ole Miss didn't play...... It is just a reason why I would never want to be on that committee.

Just a quick guess..... If the CFP is doing their job, and that is judging teams on how they look RIGHT NOW.... not earlier in the season, but RIGHT TF NOW, They have a tough decision to make at the very top of the poll. It wont cause too much chaos to the overall bracket, but it will show me they are taking the above mandate seriously. They have to judge teams on how they look now, as well as their body of work.

#1 - Ohio State (Yes, they lost to Oregon, but in a one point game...... This will not matter later as these two are bound to meet in the Big 10 CG)
#2 - Oregon
#3 - Texas
#4- Penn State
#5 - Indiana
#6- Notre Dame
#7- Alabama
#8- Miami
#9 - Ole Miss
#10- Georgia
#11- Boise State
#12- SMU
#13- Tennessee
#14- BYU (I put them behind Tennessee because of my own SEC Bias, No way has BYU played the schedule that Tennessee has).

I place the bleeding line there at 14th..... I dont see BYU falling any further than that, and neither does Tennessee. So for that reason, I dont see Texas A&M moving up this week. They hold serve at 15th. Clemson however, will get a bump up to around the 17th position. Still in the hunt for their conference championship.

I will say this as well. If Clemson beats Miami in the ACC Championship. Miami is out, and Clemson is the only ACC team to make the field. I also do not see the Big 12 getting more than 1 bid as well. Build weak conferences, and this is the consequences.

Once again, I will try to make a better prediction this afternoon when I can look at it more objectively. But for now, this is just my waking up thoughts.

Using your same logic, they could leave Oregon at #1 because it won't matter when they play OSU. They would either solidify their #1 or drop from the top 4.

So here is what I guessed

#1 - Ohio State
#2 - Oregon
#3 - Texas
#4- Penn State
#5 - Indiana
#6- Notre Dame
#7- Alabama
#8- Miami
#9 - Ole Miss
#10- Georgia
#11- Boise State
#12- SMU
#13- Tennessee
#14- BYU

Here is how they ranked them
  1. Oregon (Miss)
  2. Ohio State (Miss)
  3. Texas (Hit)
  4. Penn State (Hit)
  5. Indiana (Hit)
  6. Notre Dame (Hit)
  7. Alabama (Hit)
  8. Miami (Hit)
  9. Ole Miss (Hit)
  10. Georgia (Hit)
  11. Tennessee (Miss)
  12. Boise State (Miss)
  13. SMU (Miss)
  14. BYU (Hit)
So, I was 9 out of 14 this week.
The bracket of course is a touch different due to the auto-bids. Oddly enough, with BYU getting beaten, the Group of 5 Representative Boise State, Moved into the Bye Slot in the 4th seed. So now......it is the Big 12 that is stealing a slot.
