Now, I will say this, we are not missing his locker room presence. We had no real choice but to cut bait with him. However we are missing his best skill set, which is running up the middle.

Q had the strength to break arm tackles. While I really love Parrish, Jones, and Bentley, neither are inside runners. That is the glaring hole in our offense right now.

Now I am not a football guru. I don’t claim to know offensive schemes and can’t draw up plays, but I honestly thinking we need to draw up some better perimeter blocking, and run these speedy backs to the outside. Once we break a few outside runs, the inside runs will open up some.

But how to do that…… I have no fking idea.

Just my ramblings this evening

Not familiar with this player or why he’s not with the team any longer.

Quinshon Judkins, he was a hoss as a true freshmen, then had a good sophomore campaign. He transferred to Ohio State after the Peach Bowl last season.

His mother got in his ear early in the season last year. She told him that LSU would give him $1.2m to come there, so he started trying to leverage that against Ole Miss. Talks went back and forth, and right before the Peach Bowl, a settlement was reached for $800K. Now, during the peach bowl, he was very vocal with other players, including Dart and his offensive line. At one point, a lineman stepped over Judkins and didn't help him get up (Judkin's had his hand outstretched, but the lineman just ignored it, and literally stepped over him). Later in the game, Dart went to Lane and begged him to take Judkins out of the game, said that he was being disruptive to the entire offense. To most watching on TV, it appeared that Dart was arguing with Lane, but an acquaintance of mine that is part of the sideline staff (Not coaching) said it was him begging Lane to take Q out of the game.

After the Peach Bowl, it was announced that he would indeed enter the portal. He began shopping his skills around. Remember his mother has him convinced that a running back will get $1.2 million dollars. It was announced that he was going to transfer to OSU.....you would think the saga ends there......but wait.....there's more.

Ohio State didn't come close to $1.2m, they didn't even come close to the $800k that he had agreed to at Ole Miss. I think it was reported that it was somewhere around $400-$450K. So.......Momma T hates the sound of that, so what does Quinshon try to do? He tried to put the toothpaste back in the tube. He came back to Ole Miss, hoping to get his $800K offer back. Of course by this time it was well known that the entire Ole Miss team would walk if Quinshon was allowed back on. Lane couldn't risk losing the team just for one player, regardless of how needed his skill-set was to the team.

Now, this happened. Ohio State fans (Including our resident) would love you to believe that Quinshon's decision to transfer had nothing to do with money. And i will not get into a pissing match with anyone over it because it wont matter anyway. I cant name or produce my sources, but they are un-impeachable. We even had writers on all 3 major outlets writing about "Could there be an avenue for Q to return to Ole Miss?", "Judkins having sellers remorse", "Judkins and Ole Miss, are they done?"

So, with all that said, My first statement was that we miss Judkins this season.....and more to the point, we miss his skills, but we dont miss his attitude. This is the kid that was from some small school, down in Alabama, somewhere around Auburn I think, but nobody, not Saban, not Harsin, NOBODY was recruiting him. But Lane went and sat in the pouring rain to watch him play in his school's playoff game. He was the only Big Program coach to show any interest.... It was reported that he had issues that no other coach wanted to deal with.... We found out that was true.

Wow sounds messy. But a kid like that can ruin the locker room. Probably better without him.
