Let’s take a poll. When conditions are rainy, which type of teams is handicapped versus which type of teams are benefited?

I have always kind of been on the bubble about it. But I can see logic in each opinion. On one hand, a team that is primarily run oriented, they don’t have to worry about dropped balls, but runners need to be able to make fast cuts, and that’s hard to do on wet pitches.

Now for the passing team, a receiver knows when they plan to plant their foot and make a move or cut, whereas the DB has to be able to make that same cut, but in a reactionary manner. I’ve seen many times that the DBs fall down, leaving the receiver wide open. But as mentioned before, the receivers have to catch a wet football. Not always easy.

What does the Cafe regulars have to say?

I think it benefits a running team more. Usually when it’s raining the ball has a harder time traveling through the air because of the wind and rain.

Of course I also think a good running team is one of the most important things about a team regardless of the weather.
