This is going to happen more and more, so the qb from Vandy, Pavia, saw a shirt bearing the phrase he used after beating Alabama, "Vandy We Turnt."

He tweeted out:
"This is not me. WE HAVEN'T WORKED OUT A DEAL! DO NOT ORDER."

Only to find out it's part of a NIL and revenue sharing platform he actually IS a part of.

The company making the shirt had to tell him they are licensed to sell it.

“Well, this is awkward. These shirts were approved and are licensed by Vanderbilt and yourself (via One Team Partners), and you’re receiving a royalty on all sales. Please DM us if you’d like anything further. Thanks.”

That sure is an awkward moment.

They just don’t have a clue what all they are involved in. NIL is just not good for CFB.

It's confusing as hell, and I have a feeling in a few years we're going to see some things come out that put college football in a REALLY bad light.

Here is what I expect it to be. Technically, pay to play is still illegal in the NcAA eyes. NIL is not technically P2P, but is payola for using their name, image, and likeness. So….. with that said, I fully expect players that have a promising NFL career ahead of them, to opt out of playing if their team is pretty much out of the running for a playoff spot.

This could happen mid season, or even earlier. Think how FSU has played this season, they weee basically out of the discussion by week 2. What if all of their players just said Fk-it? I’m not risking injury and not making the NFL.

Not sure what the answer is to that. But a start would be to have the NCAA allow P2P, as much as I hate it, we have no leverage if the players decide to take this kind of action. But if their pay is dependent on playing….. they would have to stay. The only other option I can think of is to get the NFL involved and change draft eligibility for players that opted out of their teams season. Since I never see that happening, there isn’t any incentive for them to do that, I can only see option 1 being a viable alternative.
