I don’t think schemes or the system is Bama’s problem.
I think it’s the sideline, players and coaches alike.
If the coaches can’t control the players antics on the sidelines, they surely can’t control the boneheaded moves on field that have cost us games. If “shooting yourself in the foot” was a football team, it would be 2024 Alabama.
I wonder if this is partially to blame on NiL. Maybe with these kids having their pockets full if money they’re a little less likely to give the effort to get to the next level(NFL) where they used to get pockets full of money.

I have not really watch any Bama football this year, so i will need a little more context.

I see many people talking about undisciplined players.....What are they doing? What are the antics?

When i think of "undisciplined" on a football field, i think of undisciplined play, like a player getting out of his gap assignment, or committing unnecessary PF penalties like hitting someone out of bounds. So, i will need some context as to what the antics are.

They’ll make a stop on 1st and 10 and hit the sideline slamming their helmet down as if they just had a goal line stand in the Sugar Bowl. Stupid penalties abound, many after the whistle. The coaches called Malachi off the field a couple of weeks ago and he waved them off.
It’s as if the coaching staff is part of the furniture, to be paid no mind.

Look no further than the starting QB. He is the ring leader and until he is gone there is nothing this coaching staff can do. Saban found that out last year when he benched him. Saban walked away from a situation he knew would not get no better this year. I saw something shared this morning where he said everything will be fine when CKD gets his kids in there. Saban knows what is going on at Bama because it went on since all this NIL stuff started.

But then Saban put him right back in and made the playoffs with that QB. Easy to blame the most visible player on the team, but I think that is pretty unfair to a pretty good kid

I don't know that Milroe is the best option at QB, but I think his legs give him the edge, not his smarts, or knowledge of the playbook/defense.

I do think that if we struggle this weekend, a change is likely at the QB position.

That being said - NONE of that has to do with the issues on defense and the penalties.

I agree with that, i was just saying that the other poster said that even Saban pulled him out. I simply pointed out that he put him right back in and then made it to the playoffs with him.

The team is the one that decided for him to put him back in and yes he played good enough to get them to the playoffs. I agree he is the best option at this time and might be the only option unless he gets hurt. I still think there is a problem within the team and some of the players are only going to play for Jalen and if they put Simpson in it might get ugly the rest of the year.

You could be onto something there, but why do you think they'd have Jalen's back and not Ty's?

Not really sure. Jalen is a great athlete and I have been a supporter of him because I thought with his running ability he gives Alabama the best chance to win. The longer this season goes the more obvious it gets that there is something wrong within the team.
DeBoer is just trying to hold it together without it getting ugly all the way around.

So just to make sure I have this clear. You are saying that the 23 Bama team, not NICK SABAN, chose who their quarterback would be?

I think he's saying the team didn't rally any differently behind a different QB

AJ agrees with me!

Alabama has an identity crisis. What kind of team are they? Running? Passing? Penalties? Disciplined? Well coached?
